Severe
flooding in Iowa led to evacuations of many homes. In eastern Iowa
along the Iowa River and Cedar River, flooding was expected to
exceed that of the Flood of 1993. Flooding also forced the
closure of a number of roads throughout the state, reaching the
point where travel was not advised in some parts of the state. (wikipedia.org)

The camping location has changed. We will no longer be at the North Iowa Fairgrounds nor Farmer Gary's 15 acres of private land. Even though there was more room at his property, we had another response to our newspaper ad looking for land just today, and it's closer and $2400 CHEAPER! There will be a big banner and awnings that you'll spot and need to check in with the volunteers. It will be great to be on this beautiful piece of private land, but I have to really stress the fact that we HAVE TO BE SURE to pick up after ourselves. It is a kind and trustworthy act that this family is letting us use their land, and we MUST respect that. Directions to come SOON.
If you would like a quieter spot to camp, we have also been generously permitted to camp on the 5 acres behind the Clear Lake Church of Christ at 314 N 6th St. They have a nice worship service Sun at 10:30 am if anyone would like to attend, we're invited.
If you have needs for more modern facilities or just think you're pretty darn special, let me know, and I've reserved some other sights as well. Hope everyone has a great camping experience. Bring your bug spray, sun screen, flash light, glow in the dark frisbee, a cooler of drinks and snacks, marshmallows, etc. See ya there!
A BIG grateful thank you to Dick and Paulene Nickerson and family. They have donated their acreage for our camping location which in turn put the $2400 we were going to spend at the other location to the cause. Much respect and gratitude for their generous act of kindness. The address is 1550 Jonquil, Mason City.
More information will be available soon on additional parking and shuttles.
